An automatic teller machine accepting most cards is available to staff in the Atrium.
Staff meals can be ordered through the Atrium café at a very reasonable price. Also available at the Atrium Café is a selection of fine coffee, tea sandwiches, cakes and hot foods.
A culture of education and support is promoted and evident at Westmead Private Hospital. In addition to the New Graduate Program, there are also ongoing undergraduate, work experience and community service programs. We also offer inservice and external education support, scholarship programs and online orientation.
A library is available to all staff. Staff are welcome to use the library facilities and resources including internet access for study / research purposes.
Private Health Insurance, Corporate rates
Discounted rates for private health insurance are available to new and existing staff at Westmead Private Hospital through selected health funds.
Unpaid parental leave of up to 52 weeks is available for the employee who is the primary caregiver. Paid maternity leave is available after one year’s continuous service. Payment varies according to actual years of service (1-3 years = 6 weeks paid maternity leave, 3 yrs plus = 8 weeks paid maternity leave)

All staff members are encouraged to actively participate in the continuous quality improvement of the Hospital services. Contribution of ideas for quality improvement can be done through department meetings and departmental quality improvement projects or through the Hospital suggestion scheme.
Patients are encouraged to evaluate our services and contribute their ideas on improvement opportunities through Patient Satisfaction Surveys conducted independently for the Hospital and through comment forms located in each patient room.
Ramsay Health Care
Westmead Private Hospital is part of Australia’s largest private hospital owners – Ramsay Healthcare. Staff transfers are available from hospital to hospital, along with portability of entitlements.
A Pharmacy, available to all staff, patients and visitors, is located in the Main Entrance. The Pharmacy sells various items including newspapers, magazines, gifts, chocolates and pharmaceutical items and is open 5 days per week.
The hospitals social club conducts a variety of fun activities and is a great way to meet staff. Annual events include a children’s Christmas party, Christmas in July. We also have monthly draws for movie tickets and vouchers.
The social club also offers ‘shopping days’ where staff can purchase perfume, jewellery or crafts in their lunch break.
For a minimal cost, the social club membership entitles you to the fantastic benefits. A payroll deduction scheme is available to staff.
A staff discount on hospital services is available, individual cases will be reviewed.
