DR MATTHEW YALIZIS

Orthopaedics – Upper Limb
Dr Matthew Yalizis is an Orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in all aspects of shoulder, elbow and trauma surgery. He employs both arthroscopy (key-hole) and the most up to date open surgical techniques for the management of upper limb conditions and aims to utilise the latest surgical techniques and implant technologies.
Dr Yalizis completed his medical degree at the University of Sydney and his surgical training under the Australian Orthopaedic Association and the Royal Australasian College of surgeons. He also spent two years in subspecialist shoulder, elbow and orthopaedic trauma training in Australia, USA and finally with internationally renowned shoulder surgeons in Lyon France.
He is a fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Asssociation and a member of the Australian Medical Association.

DR HANNAH NORTH

Ear, Nose and Throat
Dr North graduated from The University of Sydney with Honours in 2005. She completed her ENT specialist training in NSW in 2014. She then completed two fully funded sub-specialty fellowships. The first year was in Paediatric Otolaryngology at Princess Margaret Hospital in Perth where she developed expert knowledge in managing paediatric airways and performing cochlear implant surgery. Her second fellowship was in Otology, Neurotology and Lateral Skull Base Surgery with the Manchester Skull Base Unit in the UK, one of the largest centres in the UK for this type of work.
Her interests focus around hearing restoration surgery including middle ear implants, cochlear implantation, stapedotomy, and complex cholesteatoma management including endoscopic and open techniques. She also performs lateral skull base surgery for removal of tumours including vestibular schwannoma, meningioma and paraganglioma as well as surgery for patients with neurofibromatosis type 2.

DR SOUNDAPPAN SANNAPPA-VENKATRAMAN
Dr Soundappan is a General Paediatric Surgeon. He is Head of Trauma at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. He completed his undergraduate training from Madras Medical College, India in 1989. He completed his Paediatric Surgery training from The Institute of Child Health, Chennai in 1996. He moved to Sydney in 2002.
Dr Soundappan obtained fellowship in Paediatric Surgery from Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2008. He is also Senior Lecturer in Paediatric Surgery at The University of Sydney.
His main areas of interest are General Paediatric Surgery including minimally invasive surgery, Trauma care in Children, Colorectal surgery- Anorectal anomalies and Hirschsprung’s disease, Hypospadias surgery, Neonatal surgery and Ultrasound Paediatric Surgery.

DR VAIBHAV PUNJABI

Orthopaedics – Hip and Knee
Dr. Vaibhav Punjabi is an Australian trained orthopaedic surgeon with a subspecialty interest in primary and revision hip and knee replacement and arthroscopic surgery. He specialises in surgery for adductor, hamstring and cruciate ligament injuries in the athletic population. He also treats upper and lower limb trauma injuries.
Dr. Punjabi was accepted in the Australian Orthopaedic Association training program in 2010 where he worked in busy arthroplasty units and trauma centres in Sydney. Notably, Dr Punjabi has recently completed a one year Revision/Primary Hip and Knee Arthroplasty and Sports Fellowship with Professor Fares Haddad at University College London Hospital and Princess Grace Hospital, London.
Dr Punjabi has published in peer-reviewed journals and contributed to book chapters relating to Hip Arthroplasty and Prosthetic Joint Infection. He has presented scientific papers at orthopaedic meetings and conferences in Australia and internationally and participates in ongoing research of the hip and knee.

DR REZA MOAZZENI
Dr Reza Moazzeni is a non-interventional cardiologist with a special interest in Perioperative Medicine (fitness for surgery and medical / cardiac complications) and thromboembolic diseases as well as a wide array of other general cardiac and medical diseases.
He completed his physician training in a number of locations including the Royal Melbourne and Austin Hospitals in Victoria and John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle. His specialist cardiology training was undertaken at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney which included extensive experience in heart failure, heart transplant and cardiac imaging.
Dr Moazzeni consults in English and Persian (Farsi).
