Westmead Private Hospital celebrating Pink Ribbon day

Oct 25, 2011

Westmead Private Hospital showed its true colours on Tuesday 25th October with a morning tea in support of the Cancer Council’s Pink Ribbon day in the fight against breast cancer. Most Australians have been touched by breast cancer in one way or another. In fact, one in every nine Australian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer by the age of 85 and by 2015 the number of new breast cancer cases among women is projected to be 22% higher than in 2006, with an estimated 15,409 women expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer.

As the number of women affected by this terrible disease grows, so does the need for help and support. The nursing staff of Westmead Private Hospital, who treat these women, held a fundraising morning tea and raised $2100 in much needed funds for this worthwhile cause.
