Dr Neil Athayde graduated from Sydney University in 1988 with 1st class honours having received Sidney B. Clipsham Memorial Prize in Operative Surgery. He worked as an intern and resident in Western Sydney (Westmead, Auburn, Blacktown and Nepean Hospitals).
Dr Athayde trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Western Sydney 1992-1996. From 1996-1998, he received a Fellowship with the National Institutes of Health USA to work with Roberto Romero at the Perinatology Research Branch. Since then he has been working as Staff Specialist in Maternal Fetal Medicine at Westmead Hospital including a 2 year stint as Department Head of Obstetrics.
Dr Athayde has also completed the Diploma in Diagnostic Ultrasound and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gyneacologists Certificate in Maternal Fetal Medicine.
