Dr Nagarajah is a Consultant Physician in adult Respiratory and Sleep Disorders. He has established the Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine in WSLHD at Blacktown and Mt Druitt Hospitals with the commencement of a Bronchoscopy Programme in 2024. He established the Lung cancer multidisciplinary team at Blacktown Hospital and is a member of the lung cancer advisory group for the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand.
He obtained his medical degree at the University of Sydney and completed his Advanced Training in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at Westmead, Blacktown, Concord and Nepean Hospitals. Dr Nagarajah started his career as a senior lecturer at the Western Sydney University and is currently also involved in the teaching of medical students from the University of Sydney and the University of Notre Dame. He is very involved in the training of both junior and senior medical registrars including advanced trainees in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine. Dr Nagarajah undertakes clinical research in many areas including COPD and Lung Cancer.
He has been involved in the operational aspects of the sleep laboratory and the reporting of sleep studies. Dr Nagarajah is affiliated with sleep laboratories at Westmead Private Hospital (for in-lab studies) and the home based sleep laboratory at Blacktown Hospital.
Dr Nagarajah is keen on progressing the care of patients in Western Sydney, in close collaboration with the Primary Health care practitioners.
