Dave is an obstetrician and gynaecologist with a longstanding interest in Fertility and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery. He obtained his Medical Degree and Master of Reproductive Medicine from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), before completing his specialist RANZCOG training with Fellowships in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility (REI), and Minimally Invasive Gynaecology Surgery (MIGS).
Dave was awarded a PhD in Reproductive Biology from UNSW, during which he was a dual scholarship recipient, including the prestigious NHMRC Postgraduate Scholarship. His research focused on the causes of poor egg quality in older women, for which he received the Commendation for Research Excellence Award. His PhD work has led to the development of a number of patents in the field of Reproductive Medicine.
Concurrent with his fellowship in REI, Dave undertook further training in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at the Sydney Women’s Endosurgery Centre (SWEC), one of the highest volume surgical units in the country, under the tutelage of world-renowned MIGS surgeons.
In addition to his busy clinical practice, Dave continues to be involved in teaching and research. Through his academic appointment with UNSW, he regularly teaches undergraduate medical students and junior doctors. Dave was awarded a highly competitive research grant and is leading a clinical trial to investigate a novel surgical technique for the treatment of endometriosis to maximise fertility outcome.
Dave has devoted his career to the pursuit of excellence in patient care. His training was focused on Obstetrics, with advanced training to further refine his skills and experience in MIGS and REI. Dave is committed to provide care for his patients to the highest standard, from conception to delivery.
