A/Prof Alexander Varey is a Plastic Surgeon with experience in surgical oncology and skin cancer, cosmetic, hand, microsurgical and general reconstructive surgery. Having completed his specialist plastic surgical training in Bristol and Exeter (UK), he undertook three further fellowships in Sydney at the Melanoma Institute Australia, Prince of Wales’ Private Hospital and Westmead Hospital.
Alexander aims to provide bespoke solutions that optimise the functional and aesthetic outcomes from trauma and tumour removal, tailored to the individual patient.
He has a strong research background which ensures he is abreast of the best evidence to guide the management of patients. Alexander has many high impact journal publications, has edited two digital textbooks and leads the melanoma risk prediction tools website ‘www.melanomarisk.org.au’ that is widely used around the world.
