New cardiac catheter laboratory for Westmead Private Hospital

Westmead Private Hospital has recently installed a new Philips Azurion Clarity IQ cardiac catheter laboratory.

CEO Mike Flatley said the $1.5 million investment will ensure Westmead Private continues to provide quality health care for its patients.

“This is the first step in our cath lab redevelopment, with an additional lab due to be installed in our Stage 3 Development which will commence later this year,” Mr Flatley said.

The new system will offer patients, doctors and staff reduced radiation and will greatly improve the image quality and reduce the amount of contrast media required.

For the first time, specialists will be able to undertake roadmap images on a beating heart and CT scanning for neuro patients.
