Westmead Private Development Finishes Ahead of Time

Westmead Private Hospital opened its multi million dollar redevelopment ahead of time on Monday 22nd November. The redevelopment includes:

• Construction of a totally new 15 bed maternity wing, all with private rooms and ensuites
• 2 special care nursery beds
• 2 critical care ICU beds
• Commissioning of an additional operating theatre with the latest state-of-the-art technology

In record time Akalan Projects completed the 15 bed extension and all the internal expansions in 26 weeks, making the staff and doctors very happy to be expanding ahead of schedule.

All this expansion will see the hospital grow to a 159 bed hospital. Westmead Private Hospital Chief Executive Officer Carol Bryant said “We are delighted with the new development and extensions and look forward to better serving the people of Western Sydney. Our new mothers and their families will be able to enjoy our lovely fresh, open décor whilst receiving the highest standards of expert postnatal care”.
