Dr Amir Ashrafizadeh (Ashrafi) is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. After completing his general surgery training at Royal North Shore Hospital, he undertook further subspecialty fellowships in Gastrointestinal, Hepatobiliary, Peritoneal Surface Oncology and Liver surgery at Hornsby, Royal North Shore and St George Hospitals.
His main area of interest is abdominal surgery, including minimally invasive surgery, complex hernia and gallbladder operations, surgical oncology and diagnostic endoscopy.
Dr Ashrafizadeh has a keen academic interest and completed a Master of Surgery at the University of Sydney. He has published multiple papers in peer-reviewed journals and presented at Australian and European conferences. He is actively involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students in University of Notre Dame and University of Sydney.
