Alex is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with privileges at Westmead and Norwest Private and Westmead and Auburn Public Hospitals. He is happy to consult in both English and Mandarin and believes in excellent communication and optimal care as the cornerstones of his practice.
Alex graduated with a Bachelor of Medical Science with first class honours in Developmental Physiology at the University of Sydney followed by an MBBS degree with honours at Monash University. He is currently completing a dual Master of Public Health and Master of Health Leadership and Management course at the University of New South Wales.
Alex has pursued his specialty training across three Australian states (NSW, Victoria, Tasmania), overseas in Taiwan, and in regional settings. He trained in the largest tertiary Obstetrics and Gynaecology units in Victoria (Monash Women’s) and NSW (Westmead) managing both high-risk obstetric and complex gynaecological patients. He has completed two fellowships as Westmead O&G Senior Registrar and Advanced Gynaecology Fellow in Taiwan.
He believes in clear communication and supporting women and their partners through their different pregnancy and surgical journeys, guiding them through these experiences positively.
Alex has an interest in obstetrics and minimally invasive gynaecological surgery and is a member of AGES (Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery Association) and SWAPS (Sydney West Advanced Pelvic Surgery).
Due to his passion in advocacy for patients, doctors, the environment, and education he has taken roles as the AMA Victoria Southern Subdivision Chairperson and Councillor, Victorian Subcommittee member for Doctors for the Environment Australia, presented research in RANZCOG and AGES meetings, taught medical students across different universities, and is a current RANZCOG training supervisor for junior medical officers.
