Dr Vinay Kulkarni is an Australian educated and trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with an interest in the treatment of adult and paediatric spinal disorders. He also treats both adult and paediatric orthopaedic trauma.
Dr Kulkarni completed subspeciality fellowships in adult and paediatric spinal surgery in both Australia and Canada. He worked as a Paediatric Spinal Fellow at the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network and the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) In Toronto. He also worked as an Adult Spinal Fellow at Westmead Public Hospital (Sydney) and in Canada, at Toronto Western Hospital and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. During this time, he had the opportunity to train with both Orthopaedic and Neurosurgical spinal surgeons covering the breadth of spinal pathology.
Dr Kulkarni has experience in the use of both open and minimally invasive techniques in treating spinal disorders, as well as utilising technologies such as spinal navigation where appropriate. Importantly, he believes in patient centred care with a strong emphasis on education and utilisation of adjunctive treatments in addition to or instead of surgical management where practical.
