Dr Lawrence Kim is a Urologist with an interest in urologic oncology. Lawrence received considerable training in all facets of uro-oncology. Following completion of urology training in NSW he embarked on two years of overseas fellowship training.
Lawrence’s first fellowship was in advanced robotic surgery at Yonsei Severance Hospital in South Korea, one of the highest volume robotic surgery centres in the world. He went on to undertake another fellowship at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, which is one of the few truly dedicated uro-oncology centres in the UK. Lawrence received extensive training in robotic surgery as well as a range of complex open surgery.
Lawrence has a strong interest in clinical outcomes research. He has presented on numerous occasions at national and international meetings, with many of his studies published in peer reviewed journals. This enables him to keep abreast of latest knowledge and technique in order to provide optimal patient outcome
Interests include:
- Urological cancer treatment using an open or minimally invasive (laparoscopic/robotic) approach for kidney, bladder, prostate and testis tumour as well as pelvic exenteration in a multidisciplinary team setting
- Management of urinary stone disease and voiding dysfunction
- General urology such as vasectomy and circumcision
