Dr Sunny Nalavenkata is an Australian-trained Urological Surgeon, accredited by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS). He has an interest in urologic oncology (prostate, bladder, kidney and testicular cancer) and is a fully trained and experienced minimally invasive robotic surgeon.
Dr Nalavenkata completed his medical degree (MBBS) at The University of New South Wales, followed by specialist urology training in NSW through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) and the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ). He undertook further fellowship training in Uro-oncology and Robotic Surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) in New York, USA. Widely regarded as one of the world’s premier cancer centres, Dr Nalavenkata gained extensive experience, performing both open and robotic procedures alongside internationally recognised surgical experts.
Dr Nalavenkata has completed a Masters of Surgery (Surgical Oncology) through University of Sydney and is currently pursuing a PhD in the role of imaging in diagnosis and active surveillance of prostate cancer. He is committed to patient-centred care and clinical excellence, taking the time to understand each patient’s values and preferences to guide shared decision-making. He strives to provide compassionate, evidence-based care that is tailored to the individual and is dedicated to achieving the best possible outcomes through the use of advanced surgical techniques and a multidisciplinary approach.
